Real Projects, Proven Results

From extensive underground fire mains to high-pressure systems and new commercial developments, every leak detection project presents a different challenge. Our projects demonstrate how Commercial Leak Detection approaches complex faults across commercial and industrial sites, using targeted testing and specialist detection methods to narrow down the problem and pinpoint where attention is needed.

Explore our recent projects to see how we’ve located leaks across kilometres of buried pipework, identified faults within fire main and hydrant systems and supported new developments before handover. Each case study provides a closer look at the challenge, the detection process and the outcome, showing how accurate leak location can reduce unnecessary excavation and give site teams clear information for the next stage of repair.

Fire Main Leak - Port of Brisbane (6km Run)

A 6-kilometre fire main run at a large industrial site in the Port of Brisbane precinct had a suspected leak. With a significant amount of ground to cover on an active site, our team isolated sections of the main and carried out pressure testing to narrow down the search area before pinpointing the exact fault.

The leak was located and confirmed, giving the maintenance team a precise location to excavate instead of guessing across several kilometres of buried pipe.

Fire Main Leak - Brisbane Industrial Site

A commercial site in Brisbane had a fire main leak that was loud enough to hear. We used tracer gas to narrow down the general area, followed by sonar to pinpoint the exact location.

The source was identified as a leaking fire hydrant. The leak was located and marked for repair, with no digging required during the detection process.

High-Pressure Fire Main Leak - Brisbane

This project required tracer gas to identify the general area of the leak, followed by sonar to pinpoint its exact location. The key challenge was pressure. We had to increase the system pressure to 1600 kPa to produce a strong enough signal to locate the fault. Our truck-mounted 500 CFM compressor provided the pressure capacity required for the job.

Fire Main Leak - New Build, Gold Coast

A fire main leak was detected on a brand-new commercial build before the system had even gone into service. The leak was identified during the lead-up to handover, allowing the repair to be completed as part of the commissioning process rather than becoming an issue once the building was occupied and operational.
